Day 6

Monday 23rd April Day 6,
Still raining as we left Fraser Station. Rained most of the way to Norseman had Brecky here. Egg, bacon Hash Brown and coffee. It's all so tuff out here in the outback!!!
Onwards once again towards Esperance 283 KLM's. Arrived here at the park , first person we saw was Rick, finally caught up with them.
Guess what,? Still raining!! Went shopping topped up the food cupboard( most important).
Had happy hour with Rick and Tracey, well happy two hours! Had dinner once again roast chook, roast spuds and veggies, like I said, it's tough out in the outback. Just letting dinner settle and off to Ricks Van for some PORT!!! Should sleep well tonight.
Sorry about pics having trouble getting them on the site( Timmy Tech any suggestions!).
Off tommorow for some site seeing, not sure were to go, but we will work it out!!
Booked in here for three day's so a little bit of lay back time.

DAY5

Sunday 22nd April Day5
We left Eucla 7.45am , non stop rain all the way to Madra. Stopped at the Madra Pass servo. Eucla scared me for fuel prices well this place even more expensive 97.9 LPG $169.9 ULP. Can it get more?
Still heading West more rain. Saw our first Police car in ages, trouble was he did a u-turn and sat behind us for about 5 Klms. Then took off and left us for dead!!! Stopped once again for coffee at Caiguna Servo, yes it got worse$1.00 for LPG, $1.71 ULP.
We reached Balladonia for lunch, place has change since we were here last pretty run down food was crap!
Onwards to Fraser Range Station 90 more Klms down the road. We finally found an oasis in the desert. What a great spot 447,000 acres of sheep station 160 kilometres from north to south. Had a good camp fire everyone joined in for a few drinks. Even the manager of the station, got in on the act , by playing his Bagpipes.
Great spot we will be sorry to leave.
Spoke to Rick he is in Esperance, one day away should , all being well catch up with him tomorrow.

DAY 4

Saturday 21st April Day 4

We had a fairly quiet night at Ceduna, except that it rained for most of the night. We left Ceduna heading for our next stop, Eucla. Once again the landscape didn’t change to much. Stopped for breakfast in a wayside park. Sausage, Tomatoes , toast and coffee. It’s tough out here but someone has to do it! The traffic on the road is constant a car or a truck goes past every couple of minutes. One more stop for coffee at Nullarbor, roadhouse then onwards to Eucla. Had lunch at the Great Australian Bight, very windy, not a whale to be seen!! The next section of road saw me driving Brenda watching a DVD! Not bad for some!
We went through the Quarantine stop at Bordertown, only took our onions. Arrived Eucla 1530, then had to put the clock back 45 minutes, so more time for happy hour!!! Nice C/park $18 per night, $2 a shower.
Got a fright at the price of fuel, LPG 90cents a litre, ULP $1.40 a litre. Still got to spread the wealth!!!
Tomorrow it is onwards once again in a westerly direction. This time we are heading for Fraser Range Station approx 500 Klms down the road.

Friday 20th Day 3

Friday 20th April DAY 3

Well here we are on or 66 day journey, this is the third day out. We completed nearly 500 Kms today. Port Augusta to Ceduna. Landscape change a lot, we went from Granite hills just outside Port A. to low farm and huge wheat farms just outside Ceduna.
Only one instance to give us a small scare! A Emu ran across the road just north of Iron Knob, thank god for new tyres and good brakes. Gas and petrol are what we expected to pay . In Port A $1.30 for ULP, .60 cents for LPG. Price didn’t change much at Ceduna $134.5 ULP, 70 cents LPG. The car is doing about 330 klm’s on a tank( 86 litres LPG) with the van in tow.
The C/park we are in is very nice right on the beach, had a romantic! Beach walk (sorry guys I had to do it!).
We heard from Rick he is about 1 day ahead of us. Tonight he is staying at a cattle station called Fraser Range which is about 90 Klm’s West of Balladonia. Well it’s time for a beer and cook the BBQ
